Rolls-Royce has announced a £300 million ($376 million) investment to expand its Goodwood plant, focusing on its Bespoke services and the exclusive Coachbuild program, which offers ultra-wealthy clients the opportunity to design fully customized vehicles.
The move caters to rising demand for personalized luxury cars with unique features like 18-carat gold sculptures, intricate embroidery with over 869,500 stitches, holographic paint finishes, and meticulously crafted wood veneers.
The investment is the largest since the plant opened in 2003, when it employed 300 people and produced one car daily. Today, Goodwood employs 2,500 workers and builds 28 vehicles per day. In 2024, Rolls-Royce sold 5,712 cars globally, a 5.3% decline from 6,032 in 2023, aligning with its planned transition to new models.
This expansion underscores Rolls-Royce’s commitment to long-term growth and maintaining its status in the luxury automotive market.
