To clarify, when I say “die,” I mean it metaphorically. Carwow’s Mat Watson hasn’t harmed anyone, nor has he damaged any inanimate objects like a motor vehicle. Anyway, Carwow is conducting a group test of the latest EVs from Audi, Ford, Kia, Polestar, Porsche, and Tesla.
The issue I have with this group test is that the EVs being compared have different battery capacities. For example, the Tesla Model Y has a 75 kWh battery, while the Polestar 2 has a 95 kWh battery. To cut a long story short, if the Model Y had the same battery capacity as the Polestar, it would win this test by a significant margin. Why?
The Model Y is simply more efficient. This means the group test isn’t entirely fair. Carwow should be comparing EVs with similar battery capacities for a more accurate reflection of range performance. Just saying, bro.
